System Shock: comments, queries

Have been playing System Shock for about a week. So far I'm very
impressed with the game... After playing Master of Magic, it's
nice to play a game with *no* serious bugs (and only a *few* minor
glitches). And I always prefer games that are highly configurable,
and this one lets you set difficulty levels for the categories -
Enemies, Puzzles, Plot, Cyberspace - so you can have none (or lots)
of the type of game you want. Well-designed indeed, and I recommend
it for anyone that wants something less frantic and more thoughtful
than Doom (which was fun, but too mindless and repetitive for me).

I especially like the Cyberspace levels, and will have to crank
that up next time...

Anyway, I also have some questions. I am playing at the default(2)
difficulty for Plot, and have gotten completely stuck in trying to
fire the laser. I have mapped most of levels 1-5, except for the
locked doors on levels 3 and 5, and the reactor level. Questions:

1) How do I pick up the Isotope X-22? It says I "can't use that"?
2) How do I unlock the doors on Level 3? I can't find any more
cyberspace jacks on these levels.
3) How do I un-route power from the elevator on Level 5? I tried
everything to destroy the Relay Analyzer on Level 3 (my guess as to
the problem), but no luck.
4) What am I supposed to do in the Reactor area where the Sec-2 Bot is?
I managed to kill that beast only by burning lots of Nitropacks and
First Aid kits, and found only an empty room (dying from radiation
all the while :-( Am I early to this room? Maybe there's something
else I need to do on other levels?

5) How do you detonate the Plastique? Please don't tell me *if* it's
found on higher levels that I haven't yet got to.
6) What are the Interface Demodulators for, and how to trigger? Again,
please *don't* say, *if* that information is available at higher levels.
(but if I've somehow missed it on *these* levels, I would appreciate
someone telling me).

I would swear that I've gone everywhere possible on these levels, yet
I don't even know how to open the doors on Level 3, or start the
elevator. I *must* have missed something, any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
