Isn't tanetal a butthead? The thing to do is the talk to the elven watcher.
She orders you to get the golden cornucopia that she uses to calm moander 
and put him in a deeper sleep. Then you run into some magnetized iron 
golems which magnetize your weapons, which you can then use to flush TANETAL
out of the ventricle...after that its cake.
