I found my old copy of "In The First Degree" Now this game was out ages ago back in 1995/96 and now I have a Windows XP based system. Would this game even work on my current machine or would the clunky setup with the old fashioned version of Quicktime and all still work or create problems? Anyone on here know if old windows games that are pre XP might cause any hiccups? TIA for any help -- John You love to be seen by men. In all the perfect places. Since you have the copy try it. If you have problems use google.

This is the link http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/faq.php I find it to be a slice of heaven for what it can do for the old games but there is also a couple other workarounds to play old games im talking about VdmSound, it is an emulator ( I think ) for soundcards for Win Xp, 2000 etc. at this link : http://sourceforge.net/projects/vdmsound/ Have you tried the compatability mode within win Xp its self? I mention it but I dont reccomend it as whenever I try it I get no progress......... Also you might want to look into another emulator called "Abandon Loader" try a search for it. So if you get any hiccups while playing games on Xp try the above. Regards Shaun B.

If you have problems use google. And trying is believing...... I tried it and with some fiddling did manage to get it working. However there is a but....... The game works but some of the highlights for icons you can click on came out as black on black, not really a useful colour scheme.. So while the program itself does work there's now this nagging problem of not being able to see what you are clicking on. So in essence yes it works but it's not worth the hassle to keep it on my system. Now all I need to do is find a way to safely remove Quicktime 32 as it has no uninstall routine......
