Friday's registration madness is now in the record books and people
have begun to prepare for the biggest and baddest QuakeCon to date.
Haven't registered yet? Click on the link below to join us!

For those of you that like big numbers and flashy stats, consider
this:

    * At this time, all 3,200 seats in the BYOC are full.
    * At this time, all of the tournaments are completely full.
    * As of April 18 @ 5:15 PM CDT over 4,800 people were registered
    * Of the 5 servers handling registration, the crush of people
managed to bring only one to its knees.
    * It took 9 minutes and 38 seconds to go from w0lfy (#1) to
lilfields (#1000) on registration night.
    * The official QuakeCon IRC channel topped out at nearly 400 users

While the BYOC and the tourneys are all currently full you can expect
people to drop out as the event gets closer. Expect your "waiting
list" number to decrement slowly, possibly granting you a slot in the
BYOC/tourneys before the event. Also, people always are a no-show or
simply can't make it; once we get on-site everybody has the same shot
to get into the BYOC: After all people with confirmed spots are in,
first-come, first-served check-in begins for everybody else.

Before we go, though, everybody give a big Thank You to Thrax, our
resident coding monkey, for his work with registration this year. Even
with a couple of hiccups everything still went very smoothly!

We've got plenty of other announcements and news planned for the near
future, though, so the fun isn't over yet. Check back with us for the
latest on the greatest gaming party in the world!
