In the last day I've tried to play two different games: Age of Empires and the Falcon's Eye Nethack front-end. In each case I've run into the exact same problem: the color palettes on the actual game screens are quite messed up. Inverted or reversed, maybe. There's lots of purple and blue and black. Colors everywhere else in the system seem to work fine, including in other games. In Age of Empires I can even see the animation screens & logos at the front without problems, but I get into the games themselves and everything becomes muddled. These are running on Windows 2000 Professional. I've got DirectX 8.1, which I believe is used by both games. The display is a fairly vanilla LCD with a SiS 630/730 adapter. I've tried all the display settings from 640x480 to 1024x768 and from 256 colors to 32 bit. I've even tried reinstalling DirectX. Any ideas? This is driving me slightly wacko, and I haven't been able to find anything through Google searches. Thanks, Shannon
