howdy folks :) got a quick question for the group (after a brief statement, lol) ... being more of a statistical purist rather than a graphics or "realism" nut, i thoroughly enjoy games that have a vast amount of historical statistics and real-life players. i have two games which have a huge amount of statistics: old time baseball and nfl pro league football. both games are from around the 1996-7 area so they are a bit old and the graphics are limited but good for the day. old time baseball allows you to play any team from the late 1800s through today with accurate statistics and a time machine which allows for stats to be skewed based on the game play of the era. the graphics and gameplay have flaw, but the statistic volume is amazing. if you're willing to accept the deficiencies of the game, and are a statistics nut, it's the finest game ever made. nfl pro leagues football is similar in that you call plays for the teams you select and can play any team from roughly the 50s through the early 90s. it includes a vast statistical volume as well. again, the gameplay itself is a bit slow for today and has some glitches, but for massive stats, it's a terrific game. my question is this: are there any games today that are similar to what i have described? i know most of today's games are incredibly detailed with graphics and usually include stats from, say, one season (some include all-time great teams as well). most of the games are more focused on realism and graphics as opposed to huge amount of statistics. just thought i'd throw that out to the group :) thanks everyone! scott :)
