Anyone had problems running this on Windows XP even with the compatibility
mode on?
Starting a new game from scratch is no problem, but the second I go into the
load game menu it craps out back to the desktop.
I've installed it on a new P4 2.6Ghz PC with WinXP, ATI Radeon 9600TX 128Mb
graphics card with 512Mb RAM.
I want to put my ADSL modem in from my old PC but (ahem) I still haven't found
out how to open the new PC. It's a Medion Titanium MD8008 so I'll get in touch
with them but if anyone knows please tell me.
There's two screws at the back which I can remove but the left-hand side panel
(looking at the PC from the front) just won't budge.
TIA,

FWIW, the only problem I had running Thief Gold on Windows XP was the known problem with the video codecs. That solution was listed here: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48024, perhaps something there would help? Or you could search or post in their forums. It is still pretty active. -craig

Thanks very much. I'll give it a try.

Just a quick follow-up to say I've followed that up and it's worked a treat. I
managed to install it previously by going through the XP compatibility mode,
but both times I hit upon the same problem when I copied the saves from my
games in Win98SE to the 'saves' folder.
Then, going into the Load menu made it crap out back to the desktop. So I
uninstalled it and reinstalled it for a second time using the methods on that
website, but this time I copied across just the last save I used on my old PC
and it still worked. Then I copied across my key bindings (trying one thing at
a time) and it still worked, so it clearly didn't like something about those
old saves but I'm glad I didn't have to play right from the start.
Why is it, though, that the Burricks in The Lost City sound as excited as a
paedophile who's just got a job at a primary school?
