My brother and I each have programmed some games. Both games that we have invented and games that we have found/bought/copied. One of the most polished is called "Black Box" and the boardgame version of this is/was published by Parker Brothers. We know that we can't sell these, but can we give them away as freeware? (_Some_ of our original games we may release as shareware, in hopes of creating a market to publish into, and maybe generate a little expense money to finish some of the grander ones we'd like to play) Probably, but not necessarily, these will be developed in either Visual Basic or Visual C++. The almost-polished "Black Box" is in VB. We may even consider working with a multi-platform development system like STI, since we *might* be able to legitimately borrow the tools. Then our stuff would be portable to lots of other systems besides PC's. Comments welcome, especially answers from knowledgable sources. If there is a more appropriate forum for game designers and/or game programmers, pointers would be appreciated. We do all this stuff in spare time, so there's no schedule, please don't ask when, because we don't know. Bob O'Bob Shameless boardgame plug: Readers in/near Deutschland, look for "Crash!" published by Franjos. Feedback to this account can be forwarded directly to the game's creator. --
