[Sorry if this gets out twice, I tried to stop the first] A friend of mine has been running into the following problems with Sierra's POLICE QUEST "The Death Angel" version 2. If you have ANY ideas or answers, please reply -- we're frustrated!! (Please reply via e-mail -- I will be away from Usenet for a week or two.) Here are some of the problems: o When called to investigate a disturbance at the corner of 1st and Lilly, there is nothing to be found when the car arrives. A bug? o When called to overtake the stolen Mercedes (heading towards Oak), it doesn't matter where he stops him, the scene is always the same -- the XXX theater. Another bug? And, sometimes we see the car on the other side of town, but when we stop him, it's the same theater. o Our officer ALWAYS dies at this point. The box shows him crouching behind his door at this scene, but no matter what we try to do, he gets shot. If he's supposed to be wearing a vest, where is it hidden??? o There have been times where the squad car has been hit while in pursuit, and the dialog box says "You die." But the action continues, and we can stop the stolen Mercedes -- but then he dies. If we just pursue the car without stopping it (no siren), we usually get a "Fragmented memory" dialog box with a choice to either "debug" or "forget it" (and these buttons overlap). Both choices return us to the DOS prompt with some other error statement. This has been duplicated on another machine with the same disks. Another bug??? If you have any clues, answers, suggestions, or hints, please respond by e-mail. I will post a summary of these messages (if requested). Sorry for the length, but THANK YOU for your help!!
