In Game Bytes #9, the reviewer of Risky Woods mentioned a patch
for the game that allowed playing the game at any level, rather
than playing through from the beginning each time. Anyone know
where I can find such a beastie? Thanx.

Actually this is a cheat mode I think.
You have to enter RIP at the title screen and now you have some options on 
F1-F4.

Try pressing:
QWERTYUIOP and F1 F2 F3 F4 at the main title screen.
