I was disappointed to find out that Elfish doesn't support S3-based
SVGA cards. I have an Orchid Farenheit VLB (local bus) which is based
on one of the newer S3 chips which don't have the slow DOS problem
older S3's had. Anyone have an Internet or Compuserve address for the
company which wrote Elfish? Or anyone know if they plan to include S3
capability in an upcoming revision?

Golden, the reason El-Fish doesn't work in Hi-Res is not because you have an
S3, but because your VESA BIOS extension does not support VESA mode 100h,
which is a 640x400 256 color mode. You might contact Orchid and see if they
have a driver that will support all VESA modes your card is capable of using.
