For 2D, get an ET6000 based card such as the Hercules Dynamite 128 (STB also makes an ET6000 based card). With 4MB of RAM, you'll be able to get quite high resolutions with 16-bit, 24-bit or 32-bit color. For 3D, I would get a Diamond Monster 3D or a Canopus Pure 3D. That's a card with 6mb of memory and has the 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics chipset. If you get ANYTHING other than a Voodoo Graphics card for 3D, you'll probably regret it big time because most games are ported to the proprieary API it uses, and it's currently the only card that runs OpenGL games under Win95. The ATI cards are nice, but if it's not a Direct3D game, you're hosed. The ET6000 cards should cost you less than $150, and an OEM Monster 3D should be right at $150. -- /*===================================================*/ John Simmons (Redneck Techno-Biker) http://www2.connectnet.com/~jms/ If you want to send me email, go the URL above and click "Send Me Mail" in the Contents frame. /*===================================================*/ Some helpful email addresses for spammers: Current board of the FCC: Chairman Reed Hundt: rhu...@fcc.gov Commissioner James Quello: jqu...@fcc.gov Commissioner Susan Ness: sn...@fcc.gov Commissioner Rachelle Chong: rch...@fcc.gov USPS: cust...@email.usps.gov Miscellaneous: pres...@whitehouse.gov vice.pr...@whitehouse.gov /*===================================================*/
