Note: this has been posted to all game forums - please followup to strategic only. Enemy Nations is the new real-time strategy game from Windward Studios. We invite you to try the demo at www.windward.net and then compare Enemy Nations with the other real-time strategy games you play. Ask yourself if other games offer you these features: · A Win32 application that runs on Win95, Windows 3.1, and Win/NT. · Runs at Windows video resolution so you can run at any resolution (only tested to 1600x1200). · Runs at Windows video color depth with art at 8, 15, 16, 24, & 32-bit. So you can have true color art. · Four levels of zoom so you can zoom in for tactical details and out for the strategic overview. · Four rotation directions so you can see units hiding behind a building. · True fog of war with trees and ground contour limiting vision. · Multiple map windows so you can see your base and an attack force simultaneously. · A different world is created for each game so the maps do not become repetitive. · An adaptive (as opposed to scripted) AI that will react differently from game to game. · An AI with 4 levels of difficulty: Easy, Moderate, Difficult, and Impossible. · Allows any number of AI players. (We challenge anyone to win playing 3 AI players set to Impossible.) · Sophisticated economic model that includes 4 minerals, lumber, food, electricity, gas, and people. · Sophisticated combat model that takes into account the terrain of all units, attack and defense strength, fire rate, setup time (artillery), accuracy, blast radius, and more. · Movement rate affects each vehicle type differently based on the terrain they are on. Vehicle types include foot soldiers, wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, hovercraft, and ships. · Roads and bridges can be built providing significant improvement in movement speed · Twelve races each with significant differences in over 10 attributes. · A Research & Development system with over 50 items to be researched. · Factories can be set to build any number of units so you do not need to go back each time a unit completes to start another. · Population, electricity, damage, etc. all affect factory production to different degrees based on the building type. But they do not stop construction of additional factories. Multiplayer features: · The game runs on each system. Therefore your game will not lag even if the net connection is slow. · You can save and load multi-player games. · Native TCP/IP support including play over the Internet finding other players without needing to know their IP address. · Native IPX support · Native NETBIOS support · Native TAPI support (Win95 and Win/NT only). · Native MODEM support. · Native RS-232 (direct connect) support. · Multi-player support has no limit on the number of players (only tested to 20 players). · The world size is dependent on the number of players so large multi-player games do not put you right next to each other. · You can give buildings and vehicles to other players, including enemies. · You can see (fog of war) everything your allys buildings and scout vehicles can see. · Trucks will automatically share resources between you and your allies. · Complete live chat system with each player · Complete e-mail system. Enemy Nations is not all things to all people. But it is a very rich environment and in that environment it can be a significantly different game to different people. Play the demo and see. We believe you will find this the best real-time strategy game ever. The game is Enemy Nations. The publisher is Windward Studios. The demo is at www.windward.net Please feel free to repost this message anywhere appropriate. ===== David Thielen www.windward.net home of Enemy Nations (Command & Conquer meets SimCity)
