Plug-n-Play Midi for Games I just downloaded a game to beta test. As I was looking at the files in the installed program's folder, I noticed several midi files. I thought to myself, "man I wonder how bad these suck." Then, a simple idea entered my mind that I could kick myself for not thinking before. I can simple replace these files with my own midi files. Quake would be totally different with Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child". All my games will be different for now own. The only problem is surfing the midi archives and trying to locate the midi music that you would like to hear in the game. It would be nice to create your own archives of midi files into categories on your computer. Install a game on your Windows 95 machine and be able to symbolically link a midi directory to your own midi directory, where the game will randomly select a midi file during different parts of the game. Maybe you would need some subcategories where game music gives a hint of the action ahead. Just a thought. ==================================================================== Keith Gardner * cabe...@mindspring.com * http://www.gt.ed.net/keith
