In Might and Magic I, on my trusty Apple IIe, playing with my girlfriend (now wife of 15+ years.) I handled the keyboard, she kept the huge 3-ring binder with all the maps and records of monsters. I still remember her note from the first town (Sorpigal?): "Sprites kick your ass." It was our first RPG of any kind. In Sorpigal we somehow got some Dried Beef. I had no idea what it was for, so I carried it around for weeks. In mid-game I ran into a dragon that was going sprite-like on our behinds and she yells "Use the beef!" I command-used it on the dragon, thinking it might be a powerful magical artifact. The dragon said "Thanks. Yum!" Dried beef was food. Who knew? Blew me away. Steve -- www.thepaxamsolution.com
