Hi,

I'm unable to get Republic: The Revolution to run on my setup. When I
start the game, the mouse cursor changes to show a cd, then the screen
goes black, and seconds later I get a blue-screen. Here's the content of
the error screen (translated, since my Windows version isn't in
English): There's a problem 0E with 0028:ED19D2AE in VXD ZZZZZZZZ(01) +
0000268E . (then the usual stuff about shutting down the program,
alt+ctrl+delete and so on). If I just press any key, I get another
blue-screen, stating that there's a problem (0D, this time) with
0377:0000372F. This time, the computer get totally stuck, and I have to
use alt+ctrl+delete to restart it.

My system:

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512 MB RAM
GeForce 4 Ti4400 (128 MB RAM)
Windows 98 SE (recently re-installed, with very few other games or utils
installed)

I have two cd drives (one cd/dvd and one cd/rw), and the same thing
happens no matter what drive I have the cd in. I'm using an original
copy of the game, and the DirectX version from Republic cd 1 (v. 8.1). I
would be grateful for any suggestions as to what I should try now.
