I have been encountering the DMA sound buffer yet again after getting it to work at earlier stages in the game. At the moment, its crashing at the scene between Hamilton Temple and Elinor Knox at the top of the stairs facing west. This is the one where Hamilton reveals that he wants to know if Stoll can give him real magic. It plays the scene finishes, starts reading the CD and then aborts. At this stage, I have finished the maze and the coffins and been to the library to view the scene which opens up more rooms. I am running it with a Soundblaster Pro I and Creative's cdrom package. Loading mscdex and the cdrom driver low seems to make know difference either. There was a post which mentioned that Trilobyte had a bug with whatever check routine which is causing this error. Sounds pretty plausible to me since I fail to understand why after finishing more than half the rooms that it can't do DMA right now. The error appears to be consistent which prevents me from going EW along the corridor. Can anybody tell me if anything in particular happens after the scene with the magician and the woman? Roland
