I've not seen it firsthand, but have read several articles about it as well as an interview with Mike Saenz, the wild man who created Virtual Valerie (sort of a follow-up to the classic "MacPlaymate"). It's supposed to be lots of fun the first time, kind of run-of-the-mill after that, maybe even boring after a while... Saenz said he put lots of cute things to discover in the building she "lives" in, though, which should keep things fresh. He also said (I'll try to find the *#&!@! magazine) that the "sequel" was probably going to be called something like "Donna Matrix," and joked about creating a spinoff company from Reactor that would specialize in such types of software -- he'd call it "Erector!" -- Brian +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Brian Lev/Hughes STX Corporation 301-286-9514 FAX 301-286-5152 | | Goddard Space Flight Center DECnet: DFTNIC::LEV | | Computer Network Branch, Code 933 TCP/IP: l...@dftnic.gsfc.nasa.gov | | Greenbelt, MD 20771 USA BITNET: LEV@DFTBIT | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | I DO NOT SPEAK FOR NASA OR HSTX! | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | "The ability of a network to knit together the members of a sprawling | | community has proved to be the most powerful way of fostering scien- | | tific advancement yet discovered." -- Peter Denning | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
