When you meet Xanathar and finish talking, he immediately casts a spell - just hope it isn't disintegrate it does 100 damage if you fail a saving throw. If one of your characters dies straight away, reload and hope they don't this time. What you never want to do is take on a beholder in toe to toe melee combat. staright away, move backwards and to the right. turn left, and wait for him to come, then you get a free hack. You should put haste and stoneskin and all the rest (prayer etc..) and move to his side, whilst facing him all the time. He can only hurt you when he faces you, so don't let him. As soon as you hack with your front row, move and hack form a different side. It is easiest to use a combination of the keypad and the mouse. Once you get a hang of this, Xanathar shouldn't be around for too long. Ol.

I just finished last night and was kind of dissapointed at the ending. Didn't even let you go back and look around just dumped to DOS after a brief message. Lou Marion mar...@humboldt.kent.edu
