I cannot figure out what to do at the well. I know I must drop something
down there, but have tried all that I have, and nothing has any effect.

Also, I have tried and tried to get the sunstone from the creek but can't.
It seems like the only thing left for me to do is something at the well.
Must whatever happens at the well preceed getting the sunstone?

Any ideas?

The object that must be dropped in the well is a coin. I believe the coin
can be found in the caves. Malcom has frozen the entrance to the cave and
you have to complete the Birthstone quest before you get the means to break
the ice. You have to place the birthstones in a certain order on the alter.
The order of the birthstones changes from game to game, but the Sunstone is
always the first.Oh...I just remembered, Did you make the plant grow yet?
You have to collect an acorn, a pinecone, and a walnut. These must be dropped
in the hole in Deadwood Glade (I think that is the name of the place). This
will give you the healing gem for your amulet, which is used to heal a bird
that is wounded. The bird will leave a feather that must be given to Darm.
Then Darm will explain the birthstone quest to you. And only then are you
able to get the Sunstone...(what a complex game or am I just making it sound
complex?)

The patch worked for me great...... For a while.....

First problem I had was talking to the vamp kid.....It took about 10+ minutes
to get through that scene. Turned off SB in install and it went through the
scene quickly, though things went downhill from there......

Not even booting up with the Sierra Boot Disk helps the 2 hour restore bug...
(Stuppid thing didn't even stick my mouse drive in the autoexec it created :()

If all we had to do was play the first few days oover and over again I'd say
the patch works....But theres more to the game then the first few days.

[Just another pissed off customer of Sierra and my .02 cents]
[For peets sake, the original version of KQ1 ran faster on a 286 10 years ago]

What would "normally" put down a Wishing Well? You need to get in the Cave
first.

Good Luck,

Lou
