Hi:

I downloaded Book 2 yesterday from Gog. I played Book I installed Book 2 and
it downloaded and installed OK but I think I must have done something wrong.

I am playing it on win 7 on my laptop - Book 1 played ok there. I started
playing Book 2, but don't think I am at the right place in the game. The 
start of Book 2 begins
with a scene of a baby in a crib. Ive seen that part before, but forget 
where - maybe part of a demo of the game.

It said somewhere that Book 2 has a button when you start the game showing 
your last game. I didnt see any button for that.  It also mentions you will 
continue on with  the last Book 1 save, but I can't find the saves for Book 
1.
Can someone tell me what is the first scene after you start playing Book 2?

I downloaded Book 2 to Downloads folder. Book 1 download files are also in 
Downloads but different dates of course. Thanks for any help.

Hi Mary, I cannot really help. But I can give a few hints. The baby in 
the crib is the last part of Book1. If everything is correctly 
installed, then once you have finished the baby section on the main menu 
something like play book 2 should appear at the top.
Book 2 starts with Kian Alvane not the Baby. Once you are in the game 
you should be able after a lenghty intro to run around with Kian.

Werner, your hints have helped me greatly. I completely forgot the baby in 
the crib in the last part of Book 1. Its been a while since I finished Book 
1 is my excuse :)  It threw me because I had read there was a part on the 
main menu that playbook 2 should appear, but there was no mention about 
Playbook 2 on the menu after I installed Book 2 which I thought there was 
supposed to be. That was another reason I thought the baby scene was maybe 
the wrong save from Book 1. Do I have to solve the baby scene before I can 
get to the main menu with playbook 2 appearing at the top?
Very confusing I must say. I would have liked it better if they had made the 
game all at one time instead of 5 separate episodes. But too late now. Thank 
you.

Do you mean that when I downloaded Book 2 and started to play it, I shouldnt 
even have seen the baby scene at all?
Should Book 2 have started with a Menu where I would click on "Play Book 2" 
at the top of the menu which would take me to the start of Book with Kian ?

If you have finished chapter 1, then yes. Thats what happened with my 
copy. (I however purchased it on steam
and the update went through automatically)

I got my copy from Gog. I think they do things a little differently than 
Steam about updating, etc. acccording to what I read, but I don't know what 
the difference is. I still can only access the start of Book 1. I installed 
Book 2 but when I try to access it, I get the start of Book 1. I have saved 
games from Book 1. Maybe I could get a saved game near the end of Book 1, so 
I could access Book 2, but I don't know which saved game would be near the 
end of Book 1 or where the saved game would go. I am more familiar with win 
XP. I will figure it out sometime. Thanks for your reply and input.

The savegame near the end of the book is the baby sequence,

I would recommend to replay that one (it is just 5 minutes anway) and 
then check if the menu item has appeared.
Other than that I can only recommend the GOG and Red Threaded games 
Webforums for further help.

If I can find the saved game for it the baby sequence, I would re-play it. I 
am using win 7, and found where saved games are but have to find the right 
one.

Mhh if you are stuck with the baby, a simple continue should suffice.
There are no real safe games, there is just a continous safe.

I am not stuck with the baby. Thats what I meant before. I was able to get 
the baby part, but now can't find that part.
I must have done something wrong and now I can only get Book 1 from the 
start of it. I can't get Book 2 at all.

Just finished it, chapter 2 is pretty long it took me about 8 hours to 
complete it.
Excellent chapter btw. rather slow in the beginning but really picks up 
pace towards the end.
