Big download. Will take me a long time to download. I am waiting to see what
others say about the game before I consider buying. I didn't think much of
Overseer which was the last Tex game, but Pandora Directive was very good.

Actually that was what steam was telling me, I cannot really tell how
much it
downloaded. So far the first impressions are good, the videos are
excellent and the gameplay is pretty much like in the old games.
I have not played to much yet, (20 minutes or so)

Ok I am on day 2 now playing in casual mode which allows me to skip the
dreaded mini game puzzles.
So far I still like it, it is just like the old games, probably with a
little bit more humor (cannot remember if the humor was that present in
the old games)

As for Broken Sword 5, I have yet to play it further, due to child
induced time constraints and other games (just finished child of light -
which is an excellent but short RPG btw), I have not played for a while :-)

That's some compression:-) GOG has the download size as 15.5 gigs.

Yes, there was a lot of humor in Pandora directive at least. Tex was often
quite funny and so was Rook, the owner of the Pawn shop. I liked him. I saw
from a trailer of Tesla that Rook is in Tesla, and so is the guy who ran the
Brew and Stew, and I think the guy called Archie in Pandora is in Tesla.

You will eventually get to Broken sword 5. I think you will like it. I have
never heard of Child of Light but I don't usually play RPG games. Havent
played many adventure games for a while either, but I'm glad to see Tesla
and Broken sword 5 :)

Child of Light is a mixture of puzzle sidescroller and JRPG embedded in
a rather dark fairy tale. A weird mixture which however works brilliantly.

Actually there is other adventure news, Moebius the new Jane Jensen
adventure game also just has been released.
I have not played it yet though. Also there is "Congition" which Jensen
did consulting for to my knowledge.

Thanks for the link. It is quite an unusual game. Is it a free download or
you have to buy it somewhere?

I saw the demo of Moebius but haven't thought about it much. I would be more
interested in seeing Jensen make another Gabriel Knight game. At least there
is a few adventure games being made recently -maybe they will come back in
style
again.

Well Steam was reporting a 5 Gig download and 17 gigs expanded, could be
that the Steam info was wrong, I did not check how much I really did
download in the end.

Yes, I know but I played GK1 when it first came out and it is quite a good
game. I saw some pictures of the remake but it is much like the original
game. Actually, my favorites were GK2 and 3 so I am waiting for GK4 - could
be a long wait by the look of things.

They sent out the GOG codes yesterday, so every backer should have
gotten now a Steam Key Code and a GOG code.

I never played GK1, waiting for the remake, GK2 was very good, I did not
particularily like GK3 mainly for the abstruse Serpent Roughe puzzle
which was about half of the game.

Actually, I didn't mind the Serpent Rouge puzzle though it took me a long
time to figure out, but not half the game :) I've replayed the game since,
and it was still difficult. If you had trouble solving it, it felt like it
was half the game. Even witih walkthrough it still took me a long time.
In Broken sword 5 which I finished recently, there was one puzzle - well
into the game, maybe getting nearer the end (forget exactly where it was in
the game) and it was one of the most difficult puzzles I've ever tried to
solve in many years of playing games. I had to use two walkthroughs and even
then, it was still difficult. It almost made me give up on finishing the
game.

I downloaded Tesla Effect via Steam, but it will NOT launch.

I've tried from the Steam GUI, the shortcut, and directly from
[TeslaEffect.exe], but nothing happens.

If I try to launch a second time I get the dialog saying Tesla Effect
is already running.

I noted that Tesla Effect is listed under [Processes] in Task Manager
but NOT listed under [Applications] (aka tasks).

In this state I cannot stop/exit Steam directly, I have to use the
Task Manager and stop both Tesla Effect and Steam Processes, then
relaunch Steam.

And yes, I have check Steam Support on this issue.

Any ideas?

Sorry. My fault, didn't notice the 4gb memory spec.

I've uninstalled the game.
