	Heard about stolen gold?  Both of your questions will be
answered if you can only enter the desert temple.


	(HINT: wander into desart after the desert palace, in hopes
of tents?  Then go back to temple with what you found and open the
door.  All you need is at the entrance of the temple...)

I've much the same problem, although I've also managed to pick up the blue
cloak, and old boot in the desert.  I've been to the tents many times,
yet there's nothing to be gotten there except a drink of water.  The
small tent has nothing in it that oyu can take, and if you get anywhere
near the large tent, they jump out and kill you.  What gives?

You have to sneak into the tent, creep around the rug and steal the staff.
Hiding from the bandits is a bit tricky, too.

Well, I've played this game full through before.  What you have to do to find
gold is you must venture WEST! (Remember that endless desert?)  Venture there,
but save your game often...because if you don't find water soon...you
die....and make a map, too.

This is driving me crazy.  I've tried to sneak into that large tent 50 times
now and I get killed before I even get in every time.  Am I doing something
wrong?  Do I need to have or to do something before I'm allowed to sneak into
the tent?

It is not as hard as getting out of the temple with the two items.  You have
to move on the far side of the rug.  If you touch the rug, you are dead.  I
am not very good at arcade games, but I did this part easily.  I vaguely
remember moving up the right and then across the top, staying far from the rug.
I don't remember needing anything special, but drink water often.  Audrey

OK, I finally figured out what you are talking about.  I was visiting the
tents while nobody else was there.  There's nothing in the small tent and
you can't get into the large tent.  I finally decided that there must be
something else I must do or see first before I can do anything at the tents.
So I went back to the temple and finally figured that out, and when I returned
to the tents, lo and behold, there were people there and something to steal!
Now your comments about the rug make a lot of sense.  Thanks!

Maybe you try the SMALL tent. Examine the left corner in the background.
Isn't there a shiny thing. That's all.
Be careful with the sleeping bandit. It's not soooo tricky.
