My brother, who does not have News access, is having trouble
reproducing a feat he once acccomplished in the CD ROM version of Lord
of the Rings (which probably isn't much different from the regular
version as far as play goes so don't let inexperience with the CD
version stop you from replying!).

The first time he loaded up and played the game he did a bunch of
stuff, then went into Bilbo's house and picked the lock on his trunk
and got a bunch of great things like the dagger Sting.  He didn't save
that game and now when he tries to repeat the above and picks Bilbo's
chest's lock, he only gets money.  Any ideas why the dagger isn't
there now or when it will appear there or why it showed up the first
time?  Thanks.
