Just in case anyone is interested...

I was able to install and run Obsidian on my Windows 7 Home Premium machine by
using Oracle's VirtualBox and installing Windows XP under it and then install
Obsidian. I had problems installing XP at first mainly because I was following
old instructions off the web. It's actually pretty straight forward. So it
seems now.

I was able to get a decent screen size with a little fiddling and the
performance is acceptable considering the game runs from CDs. Whenever you want
to exit the game you are forced to view all the credits so a fast left mouse
click is called for.
