I apparently was less enamored with Deadlight when I played it a few
years back. I liked its graphics (stylish I called them) and
animations (slick, I said) but was found its difficulty curve less
appealing; it was all over the place, with some segments being
ridiculously easy while other jumps were near-impossible. Worse, these
differences didn't feel intentional but rather the result of sloppy
controls and a lack of iterative testing. Of course, that was the
original version and this "Director's Cut" may have smoothed away some
of these rough spots. On the other hand, the years may have also worn
away the appeal Chiaroscuro-style art, which once felt so novel,
thanks to the hundreds of Indie imitators.

I grabbed the game regardless. No sense letting a freebie go to waste,
even if it wasn't one I enjoyed ;-)
