GAME UK shops and Online has Dishonored 2 for £19.99 inc post.
In a box version but that only contains around 4 GB of Dishonored 2's 30+
GB's
so no way to avoid big download.

Disks? They still sell those? Just kidding, but it's been a while since I've purchased a game that came on physical medium. In fact, many of my purchases recently have been of games I already own on CD (and floppy!) just so I don't have to bother with fiddling about with disks anymore* Not that I am opposed to physical medium; it has a number of undeniable advantages. I still worry about what I lose by going completely digital - no awesome manual, no pretty box, and I'm dependent on the publisher granting me leave to play my game. On the other hand, digital takes up no space, it's usually faster to download from the internet than install from CD, I no longer worry about SecuROM or StarForce, I can install onto games without optical drives and start-up is faster because the game doesn't have to spin-up and poll the CD first. But I digress. ;-) Even at a reduced rate (~$25USD) , I'm in no rush to get Dishonored 2. I really never got into the first game; the art style, the world-building, the gameplay all left me a bit cold. I could appreciate the mechanical aspects of the game but it never gelled for me; it was more a chore than an enjoyable experience. Nothing I've seen of the sequel indicates that they've added in that magical spark that makes me keep returning to some games. I'll eventually play Dishonored 2, I am sure, just because I would like to see how they have reworked the systems, but I will approach it more as a technical analysis than as a work of art. * well sorta, because as soon as I download the games I back them up to a portable hard-drive. So I guess a disk is involved after all

I agree with your view on Dishonored.
I've played around 25% main mission but cant find much enthusiasm for more.
There are things that are just not right about the game.
The AI is poor, often ruining a stealth approach with
clumsy impossible, popping out of corners etc. etc.
The 'Special Powers' aspect seems out of place.
I want to like it & am hoping Dishonored 2 is an improvement.
I miss 'games-in-a-Box' as my Internet connection is not very fast
and downloading 30 GB plus takes days.

Oh, I definitely can relate. Until recently I was stuck on dog-slow DSL (on a good day I'd get 1.5Mbps) and the time it took to download modern games was a major consideration as to whether or not I would buy it from a digital or retail storefront. I seem to recall that downloading GTA5 took me nearly a week. It was abysmal. There was a reason that the first thing I did after downloading a game was to immediately archive it onto an external hard-drive. These days I've upgraded my downlink and the same game takes less than an hour, but old habits - and a worry about increasing internet rates, thanks Ajit Pai - mean I still archive everything to an external drive. Digital downloads have some advantages, but they are no panacea. I just really hate wrestling with optical disks. ;-)
