Here's one post on mods for the SE edition:
http://www.shacknews.com/chatty?id=35862563
Also I'd suggest just looking through the top 25 or 50 most downloaded from
the nexusmod site, like this
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/top/?
(this is what I did for my present FONV playthrough)

Heh, I just uninstalled Skyrim a few weeks ago, after it had spent the
last five years in a well-deserved spot on my hard-drive. But I hadn't
played it in a long time (largely because I had so many mods that the
tottering edifice was notoriously unstable) and finally it got the
boot. It's really easy to go overboard with mods and they really
re-vitalize the game. Here are a selection of the mods I used.

Note that the new Special Edition is not compatible with existing
mods, and unfortunately, many awesome mods have yet to be ported to
the new version. The recommendations below were all used on the
original version of the game. They are available on NexusMods.com

Must-have mods:
--------------------
The various "Unofficial Patches", for Skyrim, Dawnguard, Hearthfire
and Dragonborn. Fixes scripting errors, typos, continuity issues, etc.

SkyUI: significantly alters the user interface into something better
suited to a PC

Immersive HUD: another interface tweak, its most noteable feature is
that it automatically hides the HUD whenever you don't need it (e.g.,
just walking across the moors) and - as importantly - immediatley
brings it back when you do (e.g, combat)

Ultimate Follower Add-On - gives you better control of your followers,
and lets you have more of 'em too

Convenient Horses - makes horses more useful; you can summon them with
a whistle, name them, give them saddle bags so they can carry loot,
etc.

Wearable Lanterns - lets you hang a lantern from your belt, so you
don't have to wander in the dark if you want to use a two-handed
weapon

Cloaks of Skyrim - fancy and awesome looking cloaks to wear

Sabre Gear Backpacks & Bandolier - two separate mods that add
backpacks and bandoliers; not only do they add to your carrying
capacity, they make you look bad-ass ;-)

Some graphics mods:
------------------------
Any ENB mod - these enhance the lighting and graphical effects, making
the game look significantly better. All of them pretty much work the
same, with the main difference in how they tweak the colors so pick
the one that suits you best.

SMIM - the "Static Mesh Improvement Mod" essentially replaces numerous
common objects with new models with better textures and more polygons.

SkyrimHD 2K Textures - adds higher-resolution textures that makes the
game look better

Immersive Water 3 - makes the waterways of Skyrim look and move more
realistically

Mods for for subsequent playthroughs:
----------------------------------------------
Alternate Start - provides a different start to the game rather than
re-doing the Helgen tutorial/introduction.

Falskaar - a expansion pack with a huge new world to explore and lots
of extra content.

Thanx.
A lot of work to handle all the mods,
and keeping the game stable.
But the nexus mod manager maybe will do
a good job.

Wow. Some of them I didn't know.
The first mods I will install, is a useable
map and the 2K Textures.

I am using the original game with
DLCs, so I won't have trouble with
most of Nexus' mods.

Hi,
Not sure if you've started yet, but I have over 260 mods currently
running, its addictive when you start!

I saw someone mention nexus mod manager, don't use that, use Mod
Orginizer, it keeps mod files separate from the game install and only
merges them in a virtual directory at launch so you cant break your
game.

There is a really great guide that lists some base mods that don't
change the gameplay in any big way called STEPS, Id recommend it as a
basis for all moding setups. http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.2

After that GEMs is a great list of mods that just tend to work well and
add to your game. http://skyrimgems.com/

After that look at the top files and files on the month on nexusmods.
Theres another site called loverslab for NSFW mods. I would avoid steam
workshop mods at all costs, even though there are some good ones on
there, they just make things unstable.

Good luck and enjoy the modding.

Only played 1 hour.

I tried the NMM, but had to uninstall it.
Cause some mods wont run with it.
