I'm still playing The Crew regularly, that game is surprisingly fun and addictive despite its faults (just a bit too arcade-y for my taste). You missed out on a string of very good and free games these past few months. I hope they give Silent Dogs for free next month, but something tells me it's going to be one of the older Far Cries or Assassin's Creed games.

Even though I'm not into driving games The Crew was fun just drive around aimlessly in a virtual United States. I passed on Rayman Origins because I really don't like platformers, though I hear its a good example of that type of game. I already had Splinter Cell though I haven't gotten around to playing it, and I'll probably never play Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, but I got both free anyways. The UPlay client isn't a good as the Steam client or even the Origin client, but it's not bad. My biggest complaint is that its slow, and that largely appears a server/network issue. It seems UbiSoft is being cheap in that area compared to Valve and EA. It probably would be a good idea wait a while before getting Beyond Good and Evil, although I doubt there will be a huge demand for the game overloading the servers. So far every game they've released for free is on GOG.com, except The Crew, so I expect either something that's on GOG.com or something that they can treat like a free-to-play game and make money through in game purchases. So maybe Anno 2070 (lots of DLC), or from the GOG collection, the original Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 1 or 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 4 or 5, or Settlers 2, 3, or 4. It seems unlikely they'll be giving away Watch Dogs for free though. It would make sense to help promote Watch Dogs 2, but next month is too late, they'd be giving it away a couple of days before the release of the sequel. You'd want to do it a fair bit in advance to help build up hype for the new game. That's what they did with Beyond Good and Evil, it was no coincidence they announced its sequel just after announcing it would be free this month. Steam is really ideal, IMHO. Between Steam and GOG.com, I've got a ton of games in my library already. But, come to think of it, I downloaded Bethesda.net so I could play Fallout Shelter, so I suppose one more games client isn't going to kill me. Oops I meant to say Sleeping Dogs but that's not even an Ubisoft game IIRC. I don't think they'll be giving Watch Dogs away either although I wouldn't complain much if they did :) As a side note here's the link to get BGAE running on modern machines (this free version is NOT the HD remake that came out for the PS3/360 but the ancient original PC port, unfortunately) http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Beyond_Good_%26_Evil

Yah, Sleeping Dogs would be great give away, but unfortunately we'll have to to wait until Square Enix starts their own free game promotion. (Well, I already I have the original but a free upgrade to the Definitive Edition would be nice). >As a side note here's the link to get BGAE running on modern machines >(this free version is NOT the HD remake that came out for the PS3/360 >but the ancient original PC port, unfortunately) > >http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Beyond_Good_%26_Evil Yah, I had a bit of trouble with flickering textures when I tried out the GOG.com version. It's also interesting to note that after I added Beyond Good and Evil to my UPlay account the client detected the already installed GOG version and is using that rather the downloading is own copy. (*shrug*) To be honest, I'm not sure I would've gotten the free games if I didn't already have the UPlay client installed because of Far Cry 3 (which I bought through Steam but requires UPlay anyways).
