I'm absolutely blown away by this game.

For a change I feel that I am playing a AAA game worthy of the title
and the price.

Quantum Break has very high production values throughout. It has great
graphics, responsive and easy to memorise controls, good voice acting,
set pieces that require the use of time manipulation, set pieces that
require some thought, set pieces that require both of those things,
plus it has a story that I'm actually following and enjoying. I find
myself not skipping the cut-scenes and actually watching them. That's
unheard of for me in recent years.

I find the combat incredibly satisfying. There is plenty of it and it
all needs the use of time manipulation in one way or another. The AI
is excellent and represents a decent challenge that stops you from
just blasting your way through the game.

If I had a minor gripe, it would be that the game occasionally has a
cut-scene or walking sequence but then suddenly dumps you into combat
against big numbers of opponents. When that happens the only thing you
can do is to tack cover and try to put together a plan for clearing
out the enemies and staying alive. The time manipulation powers are
limited use and all have cool-down periods, so a strategy for their
use is needed.

It's a really good game which I would highly recommend to anybody that
enjoys action shooters.

I have my eye on ReCore too (from the makers of Metroid Prime) which
is also available through the Live Store. That looks extremely good as
well.

Quantum Break will be available via Steam soon so if you're not keen
on using the Microsoft Store, you will be able buy and download it
from there.

Quantum Break comes from Remedy, makers of Max Payne and Alan Wake,
some of the single player games I've enjoyed the most (so it doesn't
surprise me that it's good).

What I don't understand though (and admittedly have not looked into)
is Metacritic shows it as having been released in April 2016 to dismal
user reviews, and Steam shows it as not yet released (Sept 29). Did
you purchase elsewhere?

Disregard, I didn't read your message thoroughly enough.
