Isn't dedicated game Graphics cards the future of PC gaming? Think about it, a 486/66Mhz is a ok gaming machine, but if you want to run US Navy fighters in 800x600 you surely need a P133, but UsNavy fighters is a really technically weak game compared to arcade games, that means that a Pentium 133 suck att playing games. Hmmm, so let's say we get a Graphics card that could take the load of a Cpu up to about 75%, that's not impossible if we have a chip that do all the polygon calculations and texture mapping, we could probably triple the performance of our computers, now, someone is gonna say that it would really suck if you would need a special gfx card to play a game, but then again, doesn't it suck even more to have to have a P133 ? :) A guy on a 486/50 would run Descent and other games about twice the speed that the poor P133 owner would do. And the owner of the 486/50 would have spent about half as little money on his gaming equippment. Yeah, maybe someday, the PC will be transformed from a really poor gaming machine to an okay one ? //MaKa

Gee, maybe someday. Perhaps why 3D accelerator card announcements
have been flowing in the past few months. Which has constiuted a
significantly portion of discussion on this base for the past week.
Cretiave has their 3D blaster, Diamond has their EDGE. Soon, ATI,
Cirrus Logic, Yamaha, Real 3D and others will also be introducing 3D
chips.
So, how was that island vacation?

Wow! Great idea!
Listen, where the hell have you been lately?
Haven't you heard of 3D accelerators? It's the future of PC gaming.
Check www.nvidia.com !!! - You'll love it !
