How do I *not* get spotted by the field full of troops and mech on veteran? Someone said they did it by lying on top of Macmillan ;-) Personally I'm looking for a more realistic solution... Anyone?

I found that you could actually crawl around and avoid them. Also not very realistic, since a person should notice someone moving in the tall grass a couple feet away, but it worked for m. turk -- "I don't particularly like it when people put words in my mouth, either, by the way, unless I say it." --George W. I followed directly behind him, about one foot back, then moved left when the soldier passed closely on our right. I then crawled past him when there was room to do so, and kept going. It took me 3 tries on veteran, and seemed as if he needed more space than normal difficulty. Maybe it was just me.

My biggest disconnect was following him under the trucks, on the pavement. "Nothing here sir, just some rifles being dragged under the trucks by two huge clumps of grass."

Thanks for the tips both. Will try again later. Got through first time on regular difficulty but I've been prone and stationary behind tree's etc on veteran and they still see me. That's something I do hate about these types of games - there seems to be a certain place to be, route to take or way to do something and not much outside of that script works. Fun ride though.

Ah, necroposting. Welcome to the new usenet ;-) I always found that the "stick the camera 'twixt his legs" method worked best... essentially the same "trick" as above, but slightly more "realistic". Essentially, to get through that section you just have to stick really, really close to the lead guy. Stay prone, and stay right behind him (don't stray off to the sides even a bit) and when he says don't move, really don't move. The hardest part of that section for me is not getting spotted, but resisting the urge to stand up and start shooting. ;-)
