I just got NASCAR Racing and am having some trouble getting past the soundcard portion of the installation. I have an Aztech Waverider Sound Blaster compatible soundcard but Sound Blaster compatible is not an option in the installation. If I choose any other option the computer hangs. If I choose none, I can finish the installation but, as one would expect, I get no sound. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dave Taylor 410-338-4499 dta...@stsci.edu

If I choose any other option the Couple of things, did you try to manually config your card, or let the computer do it? Try manual if you haven't already. What ver do you have? ie.floppy or CD. Dave, I too have an Aztech Sound Galaxy Waverider 32+. I have NASCAR working fine. The thing to remember is that this (16-bit) soundcard is only Soundblaster Pro (8-bit) compatible. So, selecting the Soundblaster Pro will get you 8-bit stereo sound. I can't get 16-bit to work at all, no sound comes out. You might want to try the game from a cold boot to dos, just in case Windows 3-95 has messed with any of the on-board mixer's volume levels. If you get this working and want to hear the game exit screen music using Wavetable synthesis (not muffled FM). Set music to the General Midi option, however first you should get the latest General Midi driver WAVETIDE.EXE I think it's in the following zip file: ftp://ftp.aimnet.com/pub/users/aztech/soundcards/wavetide.102 Plus I think there's a patch for Nascar's music image, which is needed to work with Aztech's driver: It's in one of the 3, which work various games: ftp://ftp.aimnet.com/pub/users/aztech/patches/wt_fix1.zip ftp://ftp.aimnet.com/pub/users/aztech/patches/wt_fix2.zip ftp://ftp.aimnet.com/pub/users/aztech/patches/wt_fix3.zip Incidentally if you are on the Windows95 train, you might like to pull the 95 drivers: ftp://ftp.aimnet.com/pub/users/aztech/win95/wash95.zip As an aside, I have Magic Carpet and DoomII working with Wavetable, but Dark Forces still seems no go and I have to live with FM sounds. Cheers, Robert.
