 Hi world
I have played both & FXFighter pisses all over Primal Rage.
What new in primal er well its dino's that are fighting (WOW so origional)
still the boring 2d view of the er action.
FXFighter is soooo cooool, the way the camera moves around the arena, the figures movements are so realistic & the graphics are great.

Here is the UK there is a big TV ad campaign for Primal Rage.
      what a load of bollox

       Any comments :)

Dang, I pitty you. You think FX fighter is cool? Just see Toshinden
on the PSX or VF Remix on the Saturn in action once, and you will be
blown away! Games like Primal Rage and FX Fighter rank low in console
fighting world. The Pentium PCs taking over the consoles? Yea right! If
FX Fighter is the Pentium can do, then PC is in trouble. Want to play a
really cool fighting games? Go get yourself nice PSX or Saturn, Period!

The the pc industry moves ahead at a much faster pace than the gaming
industry. New technology, new hardware, new software, popping out every
day quickly making your comment false. Though it has always been true
that because game consoles are built for games and that they've always handled
them better, we are starting to see many of the same functions of game
machines in our pc's. Video cards are now being manufactured with
multimedia acceleration, and 3d manipulation. Sound cards have wavetable
sound support. Mpeg cards for tv-quality full motion video. New input devices,
new software technologies, new operating systems, etc.. etc...

When pc's are shipped with upcoming MPC 3 specifications, it'll be a large
leap ahead for pc gamers. The one (and only) thing that game consoles have
over pc's is that they are cheaper. For pc's, the quality of your game machine
is only restricted by how much you're willing to pay for the components.

Later!

While the statement that the PC is for work and not games is the
result of a diseased mind, I do think FX Fighters hype is just that
it's on a PC. Even Virtua Fighter on a Saturn is more impressive,
IMO. Cripes, even with a P90 FX Fighter doesn't come close.

Nope, I'll be waiting for VF Remix and others on the Diamond Edge when
it arrives. Woo-hoo!

I read the press release; all it said was that Sega would port
"couple" games to the PC with NVIDIA card installed. I also read a Sega
rep's interview, and when asked what games Sega would port to the
Pentium PC with NVIDIA card, he said they haven't decided yet, but the
ported games will have minimal amount of action on the screen, since
the Pentium PC with NVIDIA card is still not fast enough to do games
like VF2 and Sega Rally. Does that satisfy your question?

Hell, If it takes a Pentium to port Sonic1, you can see how hard it
would be to port games like VF2.

As you say, VF2 and Sega Rally. What is this talk I hear about the version
of VF2 being "reduced" for Saturn?

Your point about the Pentium is hardly valid when the said Pentium has no
graphics hardware. Remove the graphics hardware from a console and see
what you can do.

I really think the graphics hardware is bent toward different games types
it seems. For PC you have to have at least SVGA and higher res. to deal
with. You could get away with less on consoles.

In any case, I will believe it when I see it.

Never asked a question. And your assumption is incorrect. Why is the
Nvidia and Pentium not enough to handle it? Do you have actual specs?

Have you seen examples? No. Since this is the first you've heard of
the Nvidia chip, one could conclude that you're quite ignorant on the
future of PC gaming. Nvidia/Diamond are one player. There is
Creative, Yamaha, ATI, Cirrus Logic- all releasing low cost 2D/3D
accelerators.

Read Diamonds press release. The two games will be Virtua Fighter
Remix and Panzer Dragoon, btw.

Twit. That was not for systems with the Nvidia chip. You don't have
a clue. Catch up on what's happening in the industry.

Does the PC do fighting games as well as the consoles? No. Or, to
be more accurate, not yet. But do consoles do any other kind of game (ie
non-arcade) as well as, let alone better than, a PC? Well, let's count
'em down:

                   PC Consoles
1. Sims Too Many to Count 0
2. RPGs Tons A few lame PC ports
3. Adventures Lots 0
4. Wargames Hordes Yeah, right
5. Sports Many, high realism, Several arcade-type, with cool
                stat accuracy graphics

Well, sure looks like the PC is for games to me! 'Nuff said.

You want to play REAL RPGs? Then get a console! PC RPGs suck as hell.
I have yet to see any PC RPG half as good as Console RPGs.

Dang, the sport titles are best selling console games in the US!
There are so many console sports games coming out yearly that I can't
   even count!

THIS I beg to differ. What the hell do you mean by lame PC
ports?? I used to love PC CRPGs, but now I've been playing
Japanese console RPG... If you never heard of them well I don't
know how to explain it. Others who tried them will agree some
of the original console RPG are very good.

Well I use my PC to play Sims, strategy, and RPG games. Even
though in recent years PC RPG games are rather low of quality
(in term of game play). I used my console to play RPG,
strategy, and action based games. Well.... I guess that make
them equal as gaming platform, IMHO.

Snippits of EDGE's review of Ace Combat- EDGE is one of the most
highly respected videogaming review mags available, however it's
intended for an adult audience, so perhaps you haven't read it.

EDGE Magazine, September 1995, Page 70:

"Nothing highlights the differences between consoles and the PC more
than flight sims. PC sims are frequently criticised for their
painfully slow learning curves and impenetrable 300-page manuls. In
constrast, arcade sims are often accused of shallow gameplay, instant
kicks and next to no longeterm challenge.
Unfortunately, Ace Combat is true to type."

"But it's the missions themselves which let the game down. They're
just dull. They consist of chasing a little white target box around
the sky, hitting the afterburner to close the distance and loosing off
a trio of missiles (you need three hits to down any air target). You
then hear a sample ("Bingo", if you hit and "Jesus, missed" if you
didn't), a weedy explosion ensues, and the plane proceeds to fall out
of the sky. Repeat a few times and return to base. It's not exactly
an action-packed experience. Missions with ground targets are even
more tedious, since buildings tend not to take evasive action."

"Although Ace Combat isn't a tragic as Cybersled, it's certainly not
worthy of comparison with Tekken and Ridge Racer. Still, if Namco
adheres to this strategy, it should make buying decisions easier."

RATING: 5/10.

Yep. What a game.

Based on your opinion of what constitutes a "sim", the above
ridiculous conclusion has to be expected.

And incredibly shallow with poor AI. Perhaps in football, although
Front Page Sports 96 may change that- the PC's sports games highlight
the difference that is common in PC and console games- DEPTH. Stats
coming out of your ass, far more advanced AI. Baseball games on the
SNES were a joke, World Series looked to have promise on the Genesis
but the ball physics handling made Hardball on the PC look realistic.
The ability to download new stats for the PC is also a major plus.

If "real" means catering to an incredibly short attention span, then
yes, I guess they do.
