Champions?

Can anyone tell me anything about this game? I waited for it a long time then
gave up thinking it'd never come out and then a year later I see it
advertised in a gaming magazine. It's a very OLD game, but until
Indestructibles comes out (and I get a new computer to run it) does anyone
have this who could tell me if it's worth ordering?

I'm not sure where, but I seem to remember seeing that the Champions
computer game is officialy considered dead now.

It's a shame to hear it, too.

It's the mother of all vaporware. Don't expect it this century. :) It
looks like some other superhero games are finally coming out though...

Yes, but will said games have what the most intriguing feature, at
least to me, of the promised Champions game: near 100% flexibility in
character creation?

One of the great beauties of Champions, at least as a pen and paper
RPG, is that you can create pretty mcuh any superhero you want. I'm
not really interested in a system that doesn't support thst, but then
I' m a Champions geek. :-)

Champions is dead. KIA. Kaput. I heard is was the victim of a
slew of development team changes, plus several diferent companies worked
on the project at different times (I even saw a demo at GenCon a couple
of years ago). I forget who ended up with the rights, but whoever it is
has officially killed the project, leaving us with 0 superhero games to
go with the 412,078,932 fantasy games that come out every week. Sigh.

Actually the creator of Champions is in mid negotiation to sell the
rights to an unnamed big company.
