OMF under Win95? Help!

Help! Anyone out there care to share Win95 Properties settings to get
OMF:2097 to run? I had it running, then tried to play 2 player and it
crapped out! Since OMF uses the dos4gw extender, I tried the same
settings I use for other dos4gw games like Doom and Heretic. It bombs
back to Windows right before the "pick your pilot" screen comes up.

Any ideas?

You know you've been computing too long when you are intimately
familiar with topics The Jargon File refers to as "obsolete".

One Must Fall cannot be run under Windows of any kind -- you have to run
it in DOS mode. It is possible to run OMF is DOS mode off your Start menu,
but you have to set the .EXE file's properties to do so. Try messing around
with the "My Computer" menus, select the .EXE file, look under the File menu
for "Properties", then Select "Advanced" to run it in DOS mode.

That's probably not the best explanation, but hey, it's late and I'm woozy.
Good luck.

OMF must be run in MS-DOS mode. When setting up a new game, they
have a little bug where they accidentally access memory beyond the
end of the stack. Windows 95 memory protection catches this bug
and terminates the application.

OMF 2097 before version 2 (with modem option) does not run in Win95
DOS session. Grab the latest patch to upgrade it to version 2 and it
will run fine.

Or you can always drop back to "MS-DOS" mode.

I was having this same problem with OMF 2 player mode until I changed one
of the advanced settings. I'm not at my machine so I can't remember exactly
which switch it was, but it was a button I checked similar to the Fast Rom
emulation in the screen section. Play around with all of those and it will
eventually work. I found it odd though that this seemed to only happen
when I went in to 2 player mode.

Get the 2.0 update for OMF.

It seemed to fix all the problems I had with win95.
I couldn't run it from 95 before I applied the OMF 2.0 patch.
