Well, when I first played Doom it was on a 386-25
and it was just about unplayable. In retrospect, I'm glad,
as it was time to upgrade anyway, and I'm still playing Doom
all the time. If you have a 486-66 now, it's about time to
upgrade that, too, so I wouldn't expect ID to bend over
backwards to ensure that *everyone* will be able to play it.
Of course, I've heard several times that Quake will be
playable on such a system, but it's like anything
else....you won't have like it as much as on a P-100. As
long as it's fully playable and smooth on a 100 or 120, I
don't think anybody should complain....if Quake is half as
fun as Romero says it is, we'll be playing this for years as
well.
