The 3COM905B is a legasy ISA card and should be replaced.  3COM does not
support that card any longer.  Change it over to a PCI slotted NIC card and
you won't have problems.  After taking over 800 hours of class room on
networking I don't use 3COM cards.  I prefer NETGEAR cards for todays
computers.  3COM were good in there day but there are better cards out
there.  The NETGEAR cards are produced by Bay Networks.  I have 3COM905B
cards and will not use them.  Spend the 30.00 on a new card and all of your
problems will go away.
