I played just enough single player to get a feel for the controls,
bind my keys, and open up the multiplayer options, then started
playing MP.

My general feel matches what others say, they've put a lot more effort
into it than WD1, San Francisco is interestingly portrayed with lots
of things to see and do, visuals are great and probably anyone who
likes GTA type gameplay will likely want to pick up this title.

The real draw for me with WD1 was the amazing multiplayer hacking
mode, so as soon as the option showed up on my in-game smart phone I
had to give it a try. Honestly? Not disappointed but not wowed
either. It feels really like more of same. I'm sure it's challenging
to take something like the MP hacking and improve notably on it,
because there's not much else you can do without fundamentally
changing the gameplay. It's kind of like the first time we saw Pong,
we were amazed because it's the first time we played it, but the only
way to come out with Pong 2, Pong 3, etc. and make it any other than a
complete waste of time would be to do something dramatically different
with gameplay, alienating the fans of the original.

So, when I play MP hacking in WD2 there's just a sense of been there
done that. It's still fun, and I will enjoy doing the same-game /
different city thing for a while, but I guess I had my hopes up for
the same thrill factor from WD1 and I've yet to see it in MP hacking
mode.

Single player appears to be a different story altogether, reviews are
coming in strong and the PC gaming community is liking what they did
with the PC version. I have no real complaints regarding performance,
visuals, bugs etc., but at the same time I haven't really played SP
enough to comment on the fun factor. I will say it seems they've
invested much more in the story and some of the other aspects of WD1
that the SP audience complained about. The world feels vast,
detailed, busy, and interesting.

Some user reviews are going on about how fun co-op MP is, so I guess I
will need to try that mode soon.
