The original Origin was such a cool company, they pushed hardware so hard and I loved their games despite being a broke-ass apartment dwellerat the trailing edge of the system specs (I can't be the only one that rememebers paying $400 for 8 meg of RAM? My rent was $600, yikes!). I wasn't so much into Wing Commander, but their arcade/sim/soap opera flight sims like Wings Of Glory and Pacific Strike are pretty much my favorite games of that era. Thanks for the link. There is another one of these around with Atari documents. Lots of entertainment there, engineers bickering back and forth with marketing and newsletters saying no two games could be like anything else they'd previously made which is why we wound up with wildly creative stuff using varied controls, from trackballs to flight yokes, to the handlebars on Paperboy. Who the hell could sell the idea of a game where you delivered newspapers, then actually make an amazing game out of it?
