Actually it is very close to a 3d Zelda in its game mechanics over time
you learn you spells which open new areas and give you new puzzles. The
3d Zeldas and Okami are action adventures which high emphasis on
puzzling and exploration and less on combat. Probbly not the the game to
mention in this group, it probably would be better off in an adventure
game newsgroup.
Unfortunately there are not to many games on the PC side which are
similar to this. Oceanhorn comes to my mind and from what I have heard
also the Darksiders series.

Actuallly there are a lot of games which would deserve a pc port. Okami
just comes to my mind because of the drawing thing, which would work
very well with a mouse. But you mentioned God of War, the Bayonetta
Series vom Platinum games also would be excellent on the PC.
ICO Shadow of Collossus, God of War pretty much every title published by
Sony from the PS3 PS4 era... Thats one of the reasons why I recently
bought (by now dirt cheap) second hand PS3 and I am filling my PS3
collection ATM. You will never see those games natively on the PC.
With the PS3 having been end of its life for three years now you can get
the games dirt cheap. I paid about average 5-10 euros for each of the
PS3 games I wanted to have. The trick simply is to avoid Gamestop, they
are a ripoff and buy this stuff second hand directly.
