I wasn't familiar with Band In A Box, but you're correct in that it looks a lot more like a utility than a game. Rocksmiths Guitar Hero like presentation is sort of why I'm lumping it in with the game discussion here, even though it sort of skirts genres. Sort of an action game with the most unintitive controller ever. :-) There is a great utility built into Rocksmith that doesn't get much attention compared to the main game. Its called Riff Repeater and lets you slow down and repeat sections of songs to get used to playing them outside the game. I can see this eventually being the main part of it that I use. I'm sort of playing the "campaign" now because it unlocks songs if you do the missions. That sounds terrible, but its mostly stuff like trying a new song or increasing accuracy in a song you play a lot. There is another game on Steam that I saw and put in my wishlist so I wouldn't forget about it. Its called FourChords, I think its a little less game-y than Rocksmith and its only $15.
