It wasn't a "fresh install" it was an "update to Win 10", and it was
forced after I foolishly responded "yes" to a question whether I
wanted to put myself in line to get it when available - foolishly
thinking that I was only answering "yes" to a question whether I
wanted to download the fucking thing, not to a final question as to
whether I wanted to also install it.

After that there was no option given to abort the process - windows
wouldn't allow me to shut off my PC without restarting into the setup
Win 10 update.

That's what happened. OK?

No. That's not what happened.

Hard to imagine that I was singled out.
