Yah I looked that up and was surprised because the lighting effects
and transparency seemed far superior to that (HL source beta engine),
while rendering of "solids" seemed inferior. It didn't have the same
feel.
I must be getting toward end game because now everyone hates me even
tho' I tried to be oh so likeable.

Yah, in Vampire Bloodlines that's the preferred option, along with
eating the most discouraging looking characters, and rats, and
wandering around with room temperature body heat and being dead.
