I fly to Old >>Curie but it wont let me land all day, despite the papers saying 'come >>one come all' .. The trouble is that other people have read the papers as well and Old Curie is full. I landed manually on the ground just outside the port and waited for someone to take off. About six days later I was finally able to get into the port and register for the race - which I still managed to win. Later on the newspapers all comment on the results of the race, and in view of my late start and the fact that the Saker is so slow in hyperspace that it can't get to Alioth in one jump, I'm inclined to believe the Imperial version. :-) >Anyway, the games really getting me down.As Im not sure >where/what to buy to make money quick to upgrade my ship, If I >leave the first few planets I get shotdown, any suggestions? Don't use maximum time compression. Pirates have a harder time intercepting you if you use the second highest level of time compression rather than the highest. Save the game immediately after entering the system, reload if you get destroyed. After winning the Wiccan Ware race, make a few trips taking medicines to Soholia. Then go to Eta Cassiopeia and register with the Federal Military; you can usually get at least 10 delivery missions to AC+79.3888 from there, and trading between those systems can be quite profitable too. Incidentally, Gametek are working on another patch. I learned this when I phoned them to report some problems which still occur in version 1.05. Anyone who is actually interested in seeing this game work properly and who has found bugs in version 1.05 should write to them, perhaps enclosing a disc with a saved game showing the bug if possible. You never know, maybe this time they'll get it right. :-) -- "Keyboard? How quaint!" - M. Scott Adrian Hurt | JANET: adr...@cee.hw.ac.uk UUCP: ..!uknet!cee.hw.ac.uk!adrian | ARPA: adr...@cee.hw.ac.uk
