  You forgot the secret level "Bubbles" in the first level. Where you see
the ships that split up in to three groups, and destroying the middle
group leaves 3 coins, watch the right side of the screen for a stone
formation. Destroy it and fly over it to reach the secret level. This
place is cool; it's relatively easy and is %@&*$$#&! LOADED with coins,
diamonds, etc. 
  One can also get to "Asteroid ?" from the secret level "Minemaze". I
can't remember exactly where or how, but if you stick to the left of the
screen from about midway on up, you should get to it.
  Like you said about the wave of fighters in the first level also works
on the first tank in "Asteroid 2". Let it alone until it turns to fire at
you then blast it. I've gotten either a Rear Power-Up or a Pearl Wind
doing this.

FAQ (just give me some credit for contributing, OK? :-) )
