Hello, I'm back!  :-)  But only for two days...

It's a pity that the moderator(s) of news.announce.newgroups changed the
format of the RFD and removed some information.  The nice indentation made
the text easier to read.  Sigh...

Let's give credit where credit is due.  I did not write this RFD alone: the
members of the quake-proposal mailing list made lots of suggestions and
corrected several mistakes in my drafts.  I won't re-post the original RFD
here, but here is the section that was removed from the top of the article:

I did not post the RFD because I knew that I would not have a stable newsfeed
and e-mail access for some time (two or three weeks).  And I didn't want to
post a RFD if I wasn't able to reply to questions that could be sent to me.
That's why Kyle volunteered for posting it and answering the questions.

By the way, if you want to subscribe to the quake-proposal list, the details
are in Joost Schuur's Quake mini-FAQ (posted periodically to
rec.games.computer.doom.misc).  Note that this mailing list is not about Quake
itself.  It is only about the newsgroup creation process.  If you are only
interested in the game and are not reading news.announce.newgroups and
news.groups, then you should not subscribe to this list.  It should be a
low-noise list...
