Magic Carpet - Where`s Level 18 ???

I just noticed something funny about Magic Carpet: There is no level 18 !!?!?!

I finished level 17, and after I got through the next level, the results screen
told me I just finished level 19 - not 18!!!

I tried it several times - without success! Even direct access (starting with
"CARPET -LEVEL 18") did take me to level 19 !!!

Can anyone explain this? Maybe the 18th level is some kind of 'hidden' level?
Or did Bullfrog try to cheat us gamers by promising 50 levels but then
delivering less, hoping that noone would notice??? (I think I noticed another
'missing level' somewhere between numbers 5 to 10, but I'm not sure...)

Pretty mysterious, if you ask me...
