Actually you have to jump over it! Position yourself at the top of the steps and you have to do the biggest jump you can over the top and run for your life to to exit. It will take some practice to get it just right. There is a extra life right before you get there, just throw one of your bombs to drop it and you can attempt the stone jump over and over again. GOOD LUCK!
