[1] INTRO

[1.1] About the FAQ
-------------------

Well, the title says it all! This document is (or attempts to be) a list
of all known Frequently Asked Question lists about all known PC games. Of
course, it will never be perfectly complete as FAQs are updated very often,
but that's the fun of it!

You may think the list is very small at the moment; _you_ can help fix that.
If you write a FAQ, or know of a FAQ that should be on this list, contact
me (see section 3.2) and watch out for your name in a future version.

[1.1.1] What about the GamesDomain?
-----------------------------------

What about it <g>? Yes, I know it exists, but the FAQ of game FAQs is
very different to the GamesDomain. The GamesDomain is a www site, which
does carry a list of FAQs (and the FAQs themselves) as a small part of the
services it offers to gamesplayers, whereas the FAQ of game FAQs is just
a text file. There's a small difference. By all means, if you have access
to the glorious world wide web, go visit the games domain at
http://wcl-rs.bham.ac.uk/GamesDomain, but you'll find there are some users
who would just like a simple text based reference. Those users are the
target audience of this FAQ.

[1.2] Getting the FAQ
---------------------

Unlike most internet users (notice the lack of a surfing reference),
I have very limited access, so I can't distribute the FAQ as widely as I
would like to. You can get the FAQ through the following channels:

INTERNET
email: Mail me at <si...@tdb.vision.net.au>
 news: comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.{action,adventure,announce,flight-sim,misc,
| rpg,strategic} *
 ftp: wcl-rs.bham.ac.uk/pub/djh/faqs (Dave / Gamesdomain)
      ftp.doit.com/pub/ned/faqs/FaqofFaqs.txt (Ned Bryant / Netcom)
 www: http://www.et.ee/spoiler/FAQ.of.the.GAME.FAQs/ (Veikko Danilas)
http://www.nuke.com, "Computer Entertainment" (Kevin Perry / CGR)
      http://wcl-rs.bham.ac.uk/GamesDomain (Dave / Gamesdomain)
| http://www.fashtas.co.za/fashtas/gfaqfaq.htm ** (Chris Schirlinger)

| * Some people have asked why I post mulitple copies of the FAQ,
| instead of cross-posting. My net access is very limited and my
| software doesn't allow this facility. When the FAQ starts getting
| a bit larger I will reconsider my posting method.
| ** Both text and html versions.

FIDONET
netmail: Mail me at 3:670/301
echos: I post new versions in the ZONE3_GAMES echo. Sorry to all those
non-Australasian fido users. Maybe an internet-fidonet user in the
other zones could post there for me? :)
files: The latest copy is always available on Tassie Databank,
+61-03-449762 (or 003-449762 from within Australia)
